When the doctor tells you that your aging parent cannot return home from the hospital safely, your whole world goes crazy.
In short, you need to make life-changing decisions fast, with no time to thoroughly research them or think them through. You are in an emotionally-charged state. We all know that highly emotional decisions are rarely good decisions. We are here to listen to you, find out your needs and desires and then take you by the hand to help you get the best care possible.
If you are like most people, you haven't researched the options that are available to you, and suddenly you have to make a major decision. We've done the research. The assisted living solutions are not one-size-fits-all. We will listen to you to find out the best solution for your individual situation. Then we will introduce you only to the vetted solutions that will meet your needs and wants. We do not charge for this service. The assisted living communities pay us to help you.
In some cases, yes. We can help you find caregiver who can come for a few hours a day, or who can live in 24 hours if necessary. If you need a caregiver more than 3 hours a day, it might be more affordable to move her in to an assisted living community. We can help you do the math by considering the complete range of costs.
Most of the people (80%) pay for assisted living care by selling the house and using the proceeds to pay for care. See the next item below for strategies and details.
Once you run out of assets, Medi-Cal has a program to help. There are also benefits for qualified veterans. See the Resources page for our network of vetted professionals for specialized help with Medi-Cal and Veterans' Benefits.
We are like a General Practitioner with a team of specialists.
If you need to sell the house to pay for your mom's care, you probably need the money right away. If you sell the traditional way by listing it with a Realtor®, it could take you 6 months or more to get the money. What will your mom do while you wait for the sale? We have a better way for people who need to act quickly.
Total out of pocket cost for a $500,000 house could be:
PROS: You get the most money for the house.
CONS: You have to put time and money getting the house ready for sale. You won't get the money for months.
You can sell the house and have the money in as little as a week in some cases. The Quick Sale Buyer will take care of the clearing, cleaning, updates and repairs. You will not have to pay a Realtor's® commission or closing costs. The Quick Sale Buyer will take care of all that. Everything will be done for you, and the money will be in your mom's bank account quickly so you can take care of Mom's arrangements and get on with your life.
PROS:
You get the money very fast when you need it.
You don't have to do cleanup, renovation and repairs.
You don't pay commissions and some closing costs.
CONS:
You don't get as much money for the house (But you don't have to pay somebody else to do all the work).
